Gene Nealon

Having served on the Church Finance Committee since 2009, Gene’s role has largely been to manage key finance projects as directed by the Committee. The most notable project has been to help finance the restoration of the Church’s historically important organ through management of grant facility through the UK Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF). This grant generated in excess of £300,000 for the full restoration of the Organ, with the final payment being made to the Church in 2013. It is with this experience behind him that Gene has embarked on an ther Grant application project through the HLF as the Church looks to finance critical restoration of the Church’s roof. With over £500,000 needed to fully repair the Church roof, the HLF grant, if approved in 2017, will again help to significantly reduce the out-of pocket costs the Church needs to pay.

An Insurance Underwriter by trade, Gene also looks after some of the Church’s insurance matters as raised by the Committee.
